Fixed Metal Casket Handles

Fixed Metal Casket Handles

Fixed metal casket handles account for 15 items. A fixed handle is mounted rigidly to the casket and does not swing, which suits casket designs where a fixed grip is wanted and where a swinging handle would interfere with the casket's appearance or handling. The family is smaller than the movable and steel-bar families, because most casket designs use a swinging or bar handle, but fixed handles remain a distinct choice for particular designs.

The castings are mostly Zamak #3, hand polished and plated in gold, nickel, antique brass, antique copper or chrome. Because a fixed handle is always visible in the same position, its finish is more prominent than a handle that hangs flat, and the finish guide's advice to match against a physical sample applies with particular force to this family.

Load ratings follow the metal handle bands, most commonly 120 to 150 kilograms per piece, with the model page governing for any single handle. A fixed handle's rating depends on its castings and its rigid mounting, so a buyer should confirm the model rating and the mounting together, and should request the load-test record before order confirmation for load-bearing models.

The minimum order quantity varies by product, lead time is typically 30 days after order confirmation, and payment is by telegraphic transfer or letter of credit. Shipments leave Wenzhou by full or less than container load. For repeat orders, confirm the finish and the stated load rating again.

Rigid mounting checks

A fixed handle is mounted rigidly, so its mounting points must align exactly with the casket's mounting positions, and there is no swing to absorb a small misalignment. The check before mounting is therefore stricter than for a movable handle: measure the mounting positions, compare them with the handle, and confirm that the handle will sit level and secure. A fixed handle mounted out of line cannot be adjusted by swinging it, and it will remain visibly wrong.

Because a fixed handle is always visible in the same position, its finish is prominent, and a finish mismatch on a fixed handle is more noticeable than on a handle that hangs flat. The finish should be checked against a physical sample before mounting, together with the other hardware on the same casket, so that the finished casket reads as one set. The finish guide explains that matching, and the repeat-order guide explains how to hold it across orders.

Checking a fixed handle sample

A fixed handle sample should be mounted rigidly on a real casket and checked for alignment, finish and feel. Because the handle does not swing, any misalignment is permanent and visible, so the mounting positions should be measured before the handle is fixed, and the handle should be checked for level and security after mounting. A fixed handle that is level, secure and matched in finish can be ordered with confidence, while one that is out of line or mismatched should be raised before a quantity is ordered.
